Sarah Weber Gallo is Executive Director of Dance New Jersey and Dance Education Director at Mile Square Theatre in Hoboken, NJ. She is currently dancing in her 25th season at the Metropolitan Opera, where she has had the great fortune to work with such choreographers and directors as Carolyn Choa, Sean Curran, Graciela Daniele, Robert LePage, Michael Mayer, Benjamin Millepied, Andre Serban, Julie Taymor, Doug Varone, and Mary Zimmerman. Sarah has also served as AGMA union delegate and has represented the dancers of the Met during multiple rounds of collective bargaining as a member and co-chair of the negotiating committee. She is the choreographer of multiple evening length works of dance and theatre, and the concert film of her production of "The Magic Hour" won the audience choice award at the New York Indie Film Festival. She received the New Jersey Theatre Alliance award for Excellence in Arts Education and the New Work Award at University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, where she earned her M.F.A. in Dance. Additional performing credits include Donald Byrd/The Group, Sean Curran Company, American Dance Machine for the 21st Century, and the Radio City Rockettes. Her ballet class approaches the technique from the dual perspectives of functional anatomy and maximal expressivity.
